Ben Crump makes $10,000 donation to Tennessee State hockey

Notable attorney Benjamin Crump made a sizable donation to the Tennessee State’s hockey program.

“I am honored to support Tennessee State University as they break barriers and bring diversity to the sport of hockey,” said Ben Crump in a statement. “This team represents more than just competition on the ice — it’s about expanding opportunities, challenging stereotypes, and paving the way for future generations of Black athletes in hockey. I encourage others to join me in this important cause and help TSU make history.”

In 2023 Tennessee State made history when they announced they were fielding a hockey team, making them the first Division I HBCU to blaze this trail.

Daunte Abercrombie has been chosen as the first man to lead the Tigers hockey program, which is slated to drop the puck in the 2025-26 season.

Financial contributions can be made to the program by visiting TSUTigers.com/Hockey/Donate or by texting “TSUHockey” to 41444.
